Workshop Offerings:
1. The Work of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee
The Staff-Parish Relations Committee is an essential team in the life of the church. This workshop will explore the work of the committee in relationship to the administrative structure of the church and in its role as a liaison with the District Superintendent.
Recommended for pastors and all members of the SPRC in a local church
2. Meetings that Matter
Time is one of he most valuable resources that we have in the church. One struggle is that meetings seem to take lot of time without much productivity. This workshop will focus on how to make meetings meaningful, life-giving, effective and fruitful.
Recommended for all committee chairs, pastors, interested committee members
3. Team Vital
Team Vital is a tool for congregations to use to create and employ an action plan to make their congregation highly vital. Team Vital creates a synergy among congregations that fosters learning form one another, collaboration, mutual accountability and support. This workshop will answer questions and provide an overview of this new resource of the Greater New Jersey Conference that will move the ministry of your congregation forward.
Recommended for pastors, church leaders, any interested laity
4. The Work of the Trustees
This workshop will help to inform and guide the work of the Board of Trustees and the responsibilities they carry within the local church.

5. The ABC's of Church Financial Management
Tax and financial issues in the local church are constantly changing. This workshop is offered to provide guidance around good fiscal policy, changing tax codes, and the work of the Finance Committee and officers of the church.
Recommended for treasurers, finance chairs, financial secretaries, members of the Finance Committee, pastors
6. So You Want to be a Pastor?
Are you sensing a call to ministry of some form? Are you an SPRC member and unsure about how to do the work of enlisting and inviting persons to explore ministry? This workshop will help to provide information about various forms of ministry in the United Methodist Church and the process of discernment and responding to that call.
Recommended for those interested in exploring ministry, SPRC members, youth workers, pastors
7. Understanding and Responding to Poverty
Jesus said that the poor will always be with us. This workshop will help to guide the local church in how to effectively respond to poverty in their communities and beyond.
Recommended for mission chairs, UMW, pastors, interested laity
8. Nurture, Outreach and Witness - Engaging Congregations in Ministry
Nurture, outreach and witness is more than a means of organizing the administration f the church. It is a framework for planning and fulfilling ministry in the congregation. This workshop will help congregations to examine how they are planning for a holistic ministry that meets the needs of church members and attenders, as well as reaching out beyond the congregation into the world.
